Location and Travel
NeFX will be held in the McShain Lounge, on the campus of Georgetown University. McShain is on the south side of McCarthy, the building numbered 42 near the bottom center of this map, with the entrance facing the building numbered 43.
To walk to the venue from the hotel, west of Wisconsin Avenue you will need to cross uphill to Prospect street, one block north of M St. This will take you to campus close to McShain. It is about a 1 mile walk from the hotel. You can also take a taxi to the Prospect Street entrance of campus. There is a gate at the end of Prospect, so you may not be able to enter campus, but it is a short walk to McShain lounge from there. Please see the map at the bottom of this page or click here.
Guest parking is available on campus. If you have told us that you wanted parking, we have arranged for it. You should be able to tell the attendant your name to be admitted. Visitor parking is available entering from the south side of campus on Canal Road, the taking the second right into the underground parking lot. Driving directions to campus are available here. The elevators from the underground parking lot emerge close to where we are meeting.
If you would like to take the Metro to campus, shuttle buses run from campus to the Dupont Circle stop and the Rosslyn stop. The charge (erraticly enforced) is $1.
Accommodations
Registration includes meals during the day and dinner Monday night at Farmers and Fishers on the Georgetown waterfront.
While hotels in the Georgetown area are expensive, we have arranged for a block of rooms in the Hotel Monticello, a few blocks from campus and very close to the Monday night dinner location. The rate is $195 a night, not including a 14.5% city tax, for a King Suite, a signficant savings from the normal rate.
